A prototype?!
Hello and Happy New Year,
I would like to show you all a solodev project I'm working on called Devious Frontiers. It is inspired by a certain popular uncompromising survival game. The twist of course is it's an adult game jam-packed with lewd things.
Vision:
As you may have already guessed, this game is visually and mechanically similar to Don't Starve. To survive this unique world, you must gather resources, craft items, build a base, and fight stronger enemies. Primary lewd themes will be Cursed Loot, Bondage, Corruption, and Transformation. This will be imparted via items and curios found throughout the world. Curios will range from simple things like a cursed chest to an entire village with its own quests. You're not helpless though, as your base naturally becomes more sophisticated, you too will exploit the world.
My second vision is supporting some customization, specifically with character skins. I think it would be fun to play as your own character.
State of Development:
While it was great just hunkering down and quietly implementing the core mechanics I'm now reaching a point where the project somewhat resembles a playable game, so I thought I'd show everyone what I've done so far, and start documenting my progress and building a community. Below is the progress I made so far:
Animation System:
All animated things are made up of multiple sprites that are animated together. I think it looks pretty good and I'm able to freely swap out sprites making it easy to set up a clothing system (see gif below)
Resource Gathering & Structure placement
I've implemented picking up items, chopping trees, mining rocks, crafting items, and placing down structures.
Stats
Player has health, hunger and lust as their stats. The first 2 are quite self explanatory, but the last one as it stands just ticks up while you engage in sexual activities or eat something.
A day/night cycle
Visually, there is a day and night cycle, though any environmental changes when its night hasn't been implemented yet.

NPC AI
A behaviour tree system is being used to define NPC AI, which should make the world feel more alive and interesting. I'm already leveraging it to make combat as described below:
Combat
A basic combat system is implemented, where you and enemies can fight.

World Generation
Right now the world has 3 biomes (plains, forest, barren) that subdivide the map, it's very rudimentary and a proper world generation will be implemented in the future.
Death/GameOver?
There's no Death for the player *yet* until I get saving working.
Timeline?
I've released an early build that showcases these mechanics. The game is in its very early stages lacking things like saving and loading, sounds/music, and generally doesn't have much content and these will be tackled over the later releases.
